Breakthrough San Francisco is a member of Breakthrough Collaborative, a national education nonprofit that launches motivated middle school students with limited educational opportunities on the road to college and encourages young people to pursue careers in education. We are looking for tutors to work after-school with academically motivated 5th and 6th grade students from underserved communities around San Francisco.
Tutors receive training and ongoing support from Breakthrough’s program staff, and are matched with 1-3 Breakthrough students to work with closely for the duration of the semester. Please note that this is a volunteer position, and that admissions is selective. Successful applicants demonstrate enthusiasm, attention to detail, and an interest in educational equity.
