From National Geographic: Teenage Brains

Many thanks to CSH Theology faculty member Julia Dobel for bringing me this great article! There’s a cool article in National Geographic this month about the development of the teenage brain and the way that such development impacts perception, learning, and behavior. It’s worth a look if only for the exquisite pictures. It’s especially close to my heart because the students profiled in the article all live in Austin, Texas, so it’s a nice taste of home to see these lovely images of central Texas. If you’re interested in a long-form reflection on the science and sociology behind adolescent development–or if you’re just a fan of the television show Friday Night Lights–this is worth a look.
