This year the San Francisco Symphony celebrates 100 years and Deck the Hall promises to a special one. The day will begin with our Angel Reception, refreshments, lobby entertainment, arts and crafts, and many other activities for children ages 3-8. Following will be a stage production featuring members of the San Francisco Symphony, cast members from Beach Blanket Babylon and an old fashioned sing-along.
All of this cannot be done without the help of our student volunteers, the Elves! We are looking for students from grades 9-12 to help us with a variety of tasks, including arts and crafts, letters to Santa, face painting, food serving, distributing programs, and generally helping us make the day run more smoothly.
Deck the Hall will be held on Sunday, December 4th, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm. Students may select one of two shifts as follows: 7:45 am to 12:30 pm, 12:30 pm to 5:30 pm. Also, we ask the volunteers to wear dark pants or skirts (no jeans, please), a white shirt, and comfortable dark shoes. Finally, we will be emailing each volunteer their shift schedule ten days prior to the event. Following the event, we will provide students with written confirmation of number of hours worked for community service credit – 5 or 10 hours depending on how long they volunteer.
Please sign up with Ms. Kievlan on the sign-up sheet in her office ASAP! Sign-ups end on Friday, November 4th. We sincerely appreciate your participation and support.
