Boston Herald Op-Ed: No Disabled Student Left Behind

There’s an op-ed in the Boston Herald today from Harvard Graduate School of Education professor Tom Hehir about the need to keep all kinds of students in mind when reforming education policy in this country. That is, standards for educational achievement can’t take a one-size-fits-all approach: it’s critical to consider the different learning and teaching needs of students with all kinds of abilities when determining the best ways to evaluate and improve schools. Prior to his current position at the Harvard ed school, Dr. Hehir served as director of the Office of Special Education Programs for the U.S. Department of Education during the Clinton administration.
