The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco has some great summer service opportunities. From their website:
Being a Counselor-in-Training or Junior Counselor means that you are interested in learning what it takes to be a leader in the community and want to gain valuable training to be a counselor in future years. As a CIT or JC, you will spend your days working side by side with experienced counselors, as well as with your peers interacting with kids, teaching, and guiding them as they explore new things. Every CIT and JC will also participate in learning sessions that help provide you with the skills you need to work with children of various ages. Being a Counselor-in-Training or Junior Counselor means that you get to have a great time at camp, learn valuable leadership skills, and that you make a difference in a child’s life!
