PEN Event: Everyday Technology for Learning Differences: Using the Tools You Already Have

There’s a great PEN event coming up later this month that brings together two topics close to my heart: it’s all about technology and learning differences. Visit the website here to sign up!

  • When: October 26, 2012, 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM
  • Location: The Exploratorium, 3601 Lyon Street, San Francisco 94123
From the website:
From computers to smartphones to e-readers, kids today are immersed in technology.  This presentation will demonstrate how to take advantage of familiar technology to compensate for learning challenges, capitalize on learning strengths, and reduce time and effort spent on school work.  Through lecture and live demonstrations, parents and teachers will learn how everyday tech – word processors, Web browsers, consumer electronics, and more – can assist students who struggle with reading, writing, notetaking, math, organization, time management, and attention.
