Here’s a great opportunity to volunteer this weekend, sent by a Stuart Hall High School parent who works at the SF Zoo! Email the address listed below to sign up. — PMK
Date: Saturday, May 11, 2013We need volunteers for three different shifts on the day of Zoofest:
12pm-5pm: Prep Team – this team will assist in prepping the tent, cocktail area, and silent auction tables for the evening. Duties will include but not be limited to unwrapping items, placing items on tables, putting bid paddles in the appropriate places, and any other tasks required related to staging the event. Some lifting required but not to exceed 5-10 lbs. More details will be forthcoming as we get closer to the event.
5pm-8pm: Meet & Greet Team – this team will assist in greeting guests as they arrive for the event. There are 3 main areas that require assistance – registration (8-10), silent auction (4-6), and escorting guests to tents (6+) (possibly assisting Zoo staff in FINAL prep prior to guests entering tent for dinner). The silent auction tables may need promoters and/or folks ready to answer questions so we need to ensure we have enough staff present. Dress is cocktail party/business casual or Zoo uniforms.
6pm-9pm: Implementation Team – this team will assist with silent auction, live auction and fund-a-need. Ideally, we should have a team of about 25 people. We will need people who are alert, have great energy and stamina because there will be long periods of standing and moving around the tent. Volunteers will help to quiet the crowd for the program, act as spotters during the auction period, collect and run credit cards and payment slips during auction and fund-a-need, and help to package and distribute winning silent and live auction bids. Dress is cocktail party/black or other dark colors.
